Follett Family Center for Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship
An asset to the region, the Follett Family Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) at the Fowler Center is a space where the students and community of Northampton Community College can prepare for the demands of the 21st century economy. The Fab Lab, a fully equipped 3-D fabrication studio and makerspace, has expanded from its original 3,800 feet to a total of 7,500 feet. Inside, students have access to high-tech tools and instructions to launch their ideas and jumpstart their businesses.
The CIE aims to be a place where students and local community members can chase their dreams and pursue their passions. You can develop your prototypes under the supervision of an expert or push the limits of your creativity using the latest advances in 3-D technology. Here you can gain access to the tools and knowledge you need to develop your idea into a thriving business.
A Place for Continued Lifelong Learning
The Fowler Center is also a center for lifelong learning, with programs designed for children, young adults, and adults of all ages to further develop their professional skills, life skills, and hobbies.
For children, we offer programs such as Cops’n’Kids which aims to instruct children on important safety lessons in a fun environment. These are free events that take place numerous Saturdays. Past Cops’n’Kids activities have focused on rules of the road for bikers and wildland conservation.
For adults focused on lifelong learning, the Fowler Center offers a wealth of opportunities for self improvement in the form of for-credit and non-credit classes. Join us for adult literacy classes, our GED program, classes on healthcare, and workforce training. Furthermore, our Hospitality Career program can set you on the path for employment in restaurants, hotels, and resorts.
